We love the pretty, little islands on the northern tip of the Kadavu archipelago! We made friends in the friendly village of Nabouwalu on Ono and spent Christmas there.

1/29: We met Waqa, the headman of Nabouwalu, his wife Marica and the rest of the "Nabouwalu Youth Club" when we brought our sevusevu to the village.

8/29: For Christmas day Marica and Waqa had invited us, so we sailed back across the lagoon.

12/29: Waqa and Sai opened the lovo, the earthoven, they had prepared in the morning.
13/29: Layers of Taro, taro leaves in coconut halves and half a pig!

17/29: All the guests had a great time--vinaka vaka levu!!
18/29: On the way back we had dolphins riding the bow wave of the dinghy!
19/29: The next day we returned for a hike in the "bush" with Navu.

23/29: The underwater world in the lagoon is rather depressing. Not many fish and coral, lots of overgrown, dead coral.
