We spent the day with lots of waiting, watching the crowd, face-painting and perfume-spraying--apparently all (modernised?) traditions (at least the lipstick used for the painting can't be that traditional). We had lots of different taro dishes in our bundle, a delicious coconut crab, but neither dog nor turtle--the villagers had fortunately asked beforehand if we'd eat those ;-)

Cloud Access lets you keep an eye on your boat from anywhere with Internet access. Use Pitufino’s AnchorWatch app while you’re ashore and on the way back from the restaurant to the bay that filled up with other boats, toggle your anchor light to find yours amidst the sea of lights. While your boat is in the marina, monitor your batteries and bilge alarms from home and receive notifications when alarms get triggered.

Cloud Access not only gives you real-time access to your Pitufino, but you can store position reports, logbook entries and soon many other useful data (such as battery stats, weather, or sailing performance) into our database. Thus providing tracking or fleet control services, and soon more such as logbook management and polar diagram creation.

Cloud Access requires your Pitufino to be connected to a router with Internet access, that can be for example your Marina’s Wi-Fi, the hotspot of a mobile phone, a router with SIM card, and for offshore use Starlink or Iridium Go.

White sandy beaches, aquarium-like reefs, some uninhabited islands in the north, small, friendly villages on Fauro island. Erosion is gnawing on the shores and the islanders fight it with seawalls, hoping that they will be able to stay on their homeland for a while longer despite the rising sea levels.

Unforgettable encounters with fishies, who are not afraid of divers, as they don't know about spear guns. We spent several hours every day in the water just enjoying their natural behaviour :-) Too often elsewhere, we encounter hardly any fish and those we see, quickly disappear under a rock to hide in panic...

After 2 weeks aboard we did our first passages with our new ship's cat. We needn't have worried: Smurfy was neither afraid of the engine or the noise of the chain, nor did he get seasick despite rough conditions and after some cautious watching he went exploring. On his second sailing day he already wanted to help with lines and enjoyed all the action :-)

Last week we took a little bundle of joy (and fleas) back home to Pitufa and he’s transformed our lives already! A boat’s just a big playground for a cat full of ropes and lines and other toys and he’s exploring his new world curiously, but cautiously. He marvels at the sea, other boats and you can feel that the whole world’s a big miracle to him… It’s a privilege to see the world and its wonders through his little eyes!
His family told us that he was 2 or 3 months old, but he seemed tiny for his age (only 500 grams!!) and his bigger brother (from the last litter) was hardly heavier. We therefore decided we’d be able to give him a better start in life than his mum and took him home. At first he mainly ate and slept (very handy as it took me 6 hours to get all fleas off him) and wanted to cuddle, but soon he got stronger and by now he’s bouncing around the boat like a rubber ball! We took him to the vet for vaccinations and microchip today and it turns out that he has gained 300 grams already
