Our last stop in Micronesia was at an uninhabited atoll far away from neighbours--one of the few places with large seabird colonies, even species that nest on the ground (masked boobies, brown boobies, tropic birds) and are most vulnerable to human "harvesting". Unfortunately two motu have monitor lizards on them (introduced during Japanese colonial times, very clever), so neither bird nor turtle eggs (we saw lots of tracks) stand a chance there. We only watched the birds from afar to avoid stressing them. We also enjoyed the underwater world--huge diversity and biomass! So nice to meet fishies unafraid to pose for pics ;-)
