W-side of Mindanao: Nunuyan Bay

Still just westerly winds, so we continued down the coast of Mindanao and did a stop-over in a bay that’s already in the Muslim area of Mindanao. As soon as we had dropped the anchor in the wide, pretty bay, two people in a canoe paddled out to us: Ahmed Esmali and his grandson came to tell us that we were welcome in their bay and that we were not to worry about security. They invited us to their home and once we took the dinghy out, not just their extended family, but most of the rest of the village came by as well to shyly chat and–more importantly–take pictures of us and ask us to be friends on facebook… We must be in a few hundred photos and social media entries just from that day ;-)
We asked whether we could go for a walk and stretch out legs? Well of course we were welcome to see their village and they ALL walked with us :-)
